Once again I braved the elements… (heat) to drag the doggies to the Blessing of the Animals at St. Stanislaus School. (For my non-Catholic readers, this is a tradition in honor of St. Francis of Assisi who is the Patron Saint of Animals.) This has been a tradition in our family since the kids attended there… and I go back every year. In the good old days… Leroy would haul a calf, heifer or even a cow down. I remember we even took Sierra’s horse Petey one time. This time was a little sad. The enrollment at St. Stan’s has really dwindled in the last few years, I don’t really know most of the families anymore and the priest seemed to be in a hurry. Oh well. The dogs had fun even if I didn’t.
