Wrestling is by far my favorite sport to photograph.  It’s convenient because the action is basically all in the same place and it’s warm… usually.  We had the opportunity to travel with the Vasquez family to San Francisco State University to watch Stevie Vasquez.  Stevie graduated from Central Catholic in 2008 and now wrestles for Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo.  I shot 89 pictures during the 7 minute match… and that’s with old batteries in my flash.  Pretty good.  After doing some culling, I ended up with 69 pictures for the match, but this one is my favorite.  As Stevie goes in to shoot a double leg, both wrestlers are completely off the mat.  Great timing… and one of those shots that you don’t even know you got until you come home and see it on the screen.
